Corn Maze for the Cure
-- 2007
In April of 2005 Mary Jane Roop received some
devastating news. At the age of 43 she had breast cancer. Following chemotherapy and surgery the Roop family is grateful to be
celebrating Mary Jane’s first anniversary of being cancer free.
To celebrate, Jake Roop (16) and his good friend Glenn
Munsee have been working all summer on the second Corn Maze for the Cure.
The corn maze has been doubled to six full acres of twists and turns geared toward
family fun! The best part is that 50% of the receipts will be
donated to the Hurwitz Breast Cancer Fund. Breast
cancer survivor Patty Hurwitz and her husband Jeff established the fund in 1999.
The fund helps to provide the most advanced technology in breast cancer
diagnosis and treatment for the Frederick community.
So come on out and help the Roop family of Brookfield
Pumpkins celebrate Mary Jane’s second cancer free year anniversary.
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
