CORN MAZE

breast cancer ribbonIn April of 2005 Mary Jane Roop received some devastating news. At the age of 43 she had breast cancer. Following chemotherapy and surgery the Roop family is grateful that Mary Jane is cancer free!!

Touched by the support of family and friends the Roop’s wanted to do something to give back so the Roop’s created a “Corn Maze for the Cure.” Jake Roop, son of Mary Jane, spends the summer cutting out and maintaining the maze. While in the 6-acre maze guests search for puzzle pieces that depict a beautiful picture.

Each year 50% of the receipts from the corn maze go to help fund breast cancer research. For 2009 proceeds will benefit TEAM HOPE. This is a group of 22 local woman that will be walking in the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Breast Cancer 3-Day, 60-mile walk October 9th – 11th. So get out those walking shoes and walk all over our corn maze to help find a cure!
